“Shaan”(1980) was produced by G P Sippy and directed by Ramesh Sippy. This was the same production house which had written history with their previous movie, viz. “Sholay”(1975). The makers of this movie wanted this movie to be as grand as “Sholay”(1975).
“Shaan”(1980) had Amitabh Bachchan, Shashi Kapoor, Shatrughan Sinha, Sunil Dutt (special appearance), Rakhi, Parveen Babi, Bindiya Goswami, Kulbhushan Kharbanda (debut), Mazhar Khan (debut), Baby Nafisa, Katy Mirza, Mc Mohan, Dalip Tahil, Sudhir, Sudhir Pandey, Goga Kapoor, Sharat Saxena, Amar Shan, Maruti, Jairaj, Mohan Sherry, Yunus Parwez, Viju Khote, Sundar Taneja, with guest appearances by Bindu, Padmini Kapila, Sujit Kumar and Helen.
The movie failed to lived upto its high expectation and ended up being just a moderate success, if at all it succeeded.
It is surprising to realise that “Shaan”(1980) is not yet represented in the blog. Its songs were the high points of this largely ordinary offering.
This song, which finished 14th in Binaca geetmala finals of 1981 is sung by R D Burman and Rafi. Anand Bakshi is the lyricist. Music is composed by R D Burman.
The song is picturised as a villain’s den song where Amitabh Bachchan and Shashi Kapoor lip sync this song in the den of the dreaded villain Shaakaal who a the end of the song is pleased. “Shaakaal” khush hua kind of approval is given. 🙂
The picturisation also have a couple of female dancers who are Parveen Babi and Bindiya Goswami, I guess.

This song has got Helen`s dance moments also, that makes it Helen song ……Johnny walker also dances for this song, he plays Bindiya Goswami`s mama
