“Hamkadam”(1980) was produced by Tarachand Barjatya and directed by Anil Ganguly for Rajshree Productions, Bombay. The movie had Rakhee Gulzar, Parikshat Sahni, A.K.Hangal, Dina Pathak, Ritu Kamal, Helen, Biswajeet, Iftekar, Madan Puri, Dinesh Hingoo, Preetam, Pardesi, Partho Guha, Harish Mugan, Deepak, Chaturvedi, John Boland, Amol Sen, Anand Joshi, Pilloo Wadia, Nilu Arora, Komal Soni, Zubeda, Anita, Rajni Verma, Master Ashoo, Sameena Kashimiri, Baby Geeta Khanna etc in it.
The movie had three songs in it. One song from the movie is already discussed in the past. The remaining two songs are multiple version song, so they can be covered in one writeup, and so this song comes quite handy in our bid to get one movie YIPPEED every day. 🙂
This song has a duet version sung by Shailendra Singh and Aarti Mukherji and a solo version sung by Aarti Mukherji. Both versions are picturised on Parikshat Sahni and Raakhi. Master Aashoo, playing their kid, can be seen in the duet version.
M G Hashmat is the lyricist. Music is composed by Bappi Lahiri. Yes, there was a time when Bappi Lahiri used to compose music for Rajshree Productions as well.
