“Toote Khilaune”(1978) was directed by Ketan Anand for CHakravyooh Productions, Bombay. This “social” movie had Shaban Azmi, Shehar Kapoor, Utpal Dutt, Rakesh Pandey, Urmila Bhatt, Shobhana Shah, Meena Chitnis, Jankidas, Bharat Kapoor, Gautam Sareen, Sharat Saxxena, D Kumar Vivek Adharkar, Master Ravi, Mahesh Bhatta, Sooraj Saneem, Prem Prakash, Vimal Chopra, Dharmveer, Gurbachan Singh, Bhagwan, Dhanna Lal, Jugnu Jain etc with special role by Ambika Johar.
The movie had five songs in it. Three of these songs have been covered in the past.
Here is the fourth song from “Toote Khilaune”(1978) to appear in the blog. This song is sung by Bappi Lahiri. Kaifi Azmi is the lyricist. Music is composed by Bappi Lahiri.
The song is picturised on Shekhar Kapoor, the hero of the movie. It was perhaps the first time that Bappi Lahiri sang a song under his own composition, much like how R D Burman used to do. But unlike R D Burman, he would end up overdoing it in future.

Since Aap Ki Khatir was released in 1977,it must be the first movie to have playback by Bappi Lahiri…. the hugely popular Bambai se aaya mera dosth (with chorus) and, the less heard Shola re,bhola re(with Shailendra Singh and Usha Mangeshkar).
