Today on the occasion of Kishore Kumar’s 95th birth anniversary we are paying our tributes to this multi-faceted versatile genius on this blog. Today, we have so far covered songs sung by Kishore Kumar. But Kishore Kumar was not only a singer. He was actor-producer- director-lyricist and music composer too.
In this post I am presenting a song composed by Kishore Kumar from the movie ‘Zameen Aasmaan-1972’. As mentioned by me while presenting the first song from this movie on the blog, it seems that the movie ‘Zameen Aasmaan-1972’ was a forgotten movie even though its music was composed by Kishore Kumar and the movie had a decent star-cast.
“Zameen Aasmaan-1972” was directed by for ‘A.V. Films’ by A. Veerappan. Eesmayeel Shroff was the Chief Assistant Director. A. Veerappan was also the producer of this movie, and he also wrote the screenplay of this movie. This movie has Ashok Kumar, Sunil Dutt, Rekha, Yogeeta Bali, Ramesh Deo, Indrani Mukherjee, Achala Sachdev, Dulari, Ashim Kumar, O.P. Sharma, S.K. Sharma, Kiron, Sushil Kumar, Master Tarun Kumar Gupta, Baby Charulata, Gemini Balu, and Sharad Kumar, and others.
Story of this movie was written by A. Veerappan developed from the Malayalam Play & Film – ‘Kadal Paalam’ by K.T. Mohammed. Dialogues of this movie were written by Rajinder Singh Atish. Editing of this movie was done by R. Bhaskar. This movie was passed by Censor Board on 10.07.1972.
“Zameen Aasmaan-1972” has six songs. Five of them were written by Indeevar and one by Anand Bakshi. Kishore Kumar, Lata Mangeshkar, and Asha Bhonsle were the playback singers for the songs of this movie. Music for this movie was composed by Kishore Kumar. Basu Chakraborty was the assistant music director. This was the only movie other than his home productions where Kishore Kumar had composed music.
One song from this movie was posted on the blog on 16.03.2022. I had then presented the song sung by Lata Mangeshkar from this movie.
Today I am presenting a song sung by Asha Bhonsle. It is a ‘club song dance’ category of song. Rekha is seen performing on this song. Sunil Dutt and Ashim Kumar (?) and others are also present in the picturisation of this song. I have not watched this movie so can’t say much about it. However this song is a nice song having some nice ‘racy’ music. From the song one can guess that the girl (Rekha) is trying to convey some message or giving some hint to the good guys present on the scene (?). In our Hindi movies the club dance-songs are often used for such purposes. Other than entertainment and seduction they also carry ‘philosophical’ For instance this song conveys the philosophical message … ‘zindagi jaisee hai , waise qabool kar ‘ 🙂

Thanks for the song. I really do not know that Kishore Kumar did Music for any film other than its own. It is surprise to many. Also another thing is Young Rekha as Club dancer!!

What a superb song. Quite a fast paced song! Keeping in mind Kishore Da’s compositions from earlier movies like Door Ka Raahi, Door Gagan Ki Chhoan Mein, etc, it’s difficult to imagine such a fast paced song being composed by him. But such was the genius of the great legend!! Brilliance all along!!!
