“Nazraana Pyaar Ka”(1980) was produced and directed by S M Sagar for Adhikar International, Bombay . This movie had Ashok Kumar, Sarika, Vijayendra, Raj Kiran, Neeta Mehta, Aruna Irani, Shakti Kapoor, Raj Babbar, Deven Verma, Chandrashekhar, Bhagwan Dada, Maruti, Meena T, Renu, Brahm Bharadwaj, Kundan, Kumud Tripathi, Brahmachari, Raj Mehra, Prakash Mishra, Sahgal, Manmauji, Radheshyam, Masood etc in it.
“Nazraana Pyaar Ka”(1980) had five songs in it. Four songs have been covered in the blog so far.

Hemant Bhonsle, son of Asha Bhonsle, was in his early days as a fledgling movie director at that time. Asha Bhonsle mentioned this fact while presenting Vishesh Jaimala programme of Vividh Bharati.
Hemant Bhonsle ensured that his mother’s voice was there in all the five songs of the movie. 🙂 He also ensured that the legends Rafi and Kishore Kumar got to sing one duet each with his mother. Amit Kumar and Anwar also got to figure in one song alongwith Asha Bhonsle.
Interestingly, Asha Bhonsle’s voice was used for as many as three actresses in the movie. She sang for Neeta Mehta (two songs), Aruna Irani (two songs) and Sarika (one song). While three actresses had to make do with just one playback singer, Raj Kiran got to sing in the voice of Kishore Kuamr in one song and Amit Kumar in another song. What a rare privilege. The hero Vijayendra got just one song to lip sync, viz the Rafi-Asha Bhonsle duet. This must have been one of the last songs sung by Rafi before his untimely demise from our midst.
As many as three lyricists penned the five songs. Nida Fazli was the main lyricist who wrote three songs. Vitthal Bhai Patel and Anjaan wrote one song each.
Here is the fifth and final song from “Nazraana Pyaar Ka”(1980) to appear in the blog. This song is a mujra dance song, which is picturised on Aruna Irani with Shakti Kapoor playing her client. This song is penned by Anjaan. It wopuld be interesting to know what was the thought process of Anjaan while writing the lyrics of the song. Mujra dance is such a common situation in Hindi movies. Almost every movie of those days boasted of a mujra song those days. A lyricist obviously could not just rehash the lyrics of some earlier mujra songs. He was required to come up with lyrics idea that sounded fresh and appealing to the listener. He could not simply rehash the words of some earlier mujra song, such as his own famous mujra song “Salaam e ishq meree jaan zara qubool kar le” from “Muqaddar Ka Sikandar”(1978). My guess is that Anjaan thought long and hard and came up with the idea of writing this mujra song around the word “dupatta”. The word “dupatta” gets used a whopping 41 times in the entire lyrics. 🙂 This must be a record of sorts for using the same word multiple times in a song. 🙂
Despite this brainwave by Anjaan, this mujra song failed to get popular unlike the abovementioned mujra of “Muqaddar Ka Sikandar”(1978). Personally I had never heard this song till now whereas I have head the “Muqaddar Ka Sikandar” (1978) mujra song ad nauseum. The fact that I , and most movie watchers gave “Nazraana Pyaar Ka”(1980) a miss has to do something about the obscurity of this mujra song.
With this song, all the five songs of “Nazraana Pyaar Ka”(1980) get covered in the blog. The movie thus gets YIPPEED in the blog.

A tiny trivia about Aruna Irani appearing in films with Shakti Kapoor.
The 1st film they were billed together was Qurbani (1980) where they played brother sister. Then they went on to play all possible relations:-
