Hullo Atuldom
The serial “Wagle Ki Duniya – Nayi Peedhi Naye Kissey” was a serial I loved watching for its assorted characters, that lived in a apartment complex of North Mumbai. One of the characters, who happened to be a neighbour, friend & almost like family to the central (to the plot) Wagle Family- Daksesh Joshipura who is the secretary of the society. He had a one-liner every time he appears on the screen:- “I am Daksesh Joshipura, honourable secretary of the society & 1st Citizen of Sai Darshan Heights”.
I am sure the followers of the blog maybe wondering where I am leading to.
Today, 26th October is the Birthday of the 1st Citizen (follower) of Atulsongaday. I had wished for a few things in my last post, on this date in 2022:-
Here is wishing the first follower of AtulSongaDay.me a very Happy Birthday. Hope he has a enjoyable musical day & year ahead. Hope he gets back to being active here on the blog. Really miss his posts which are full of his love for Mohd. Rafi, Kishore Kumar, Rajesh Khanna, Amitabh Bachchan, Sahir, and everyone connected with Indian Film Music.
I am reiterating my wishes to him. Wish you a very very Happy Birthday Rajaji. Hope you come out of hibernation more often, than the small guest appearance posts that we are getting over the last three years.
I take this opportunity to wish the Baby of another Atulite on her birthday. All the best for her future may she achieve all that she has set her sights on. Hope she shares her father’s love for music.
Let us have a party song to celebrate the occasion. It is from the 1998 released, Harmesh Malhotra produced & directed “Dulhe Raja”. The song has Govinda trying to outsmart Kadar Khan in conjunction with Raveena Tandon. What he doesn’t know is that Raveena Tandon is playing along, since she has heard her father proclaim that Govinda is his enemy number one.
Prior to the song, Kadar Khan has disapproved Raveena’s boyfriend Mohnish Behl, as he has seen Mohnish being the reason for a girl’s suicide. He has challenged Raveena that he will agree to her marriage with anyone; no matter what his financial status or even if he is his (the father’s) sworn enemy but marrying Mohnish is a BIG NO. That is why Raveena is playing her part in the song so that her father will object to this alliance too & she can go back to Mohnish. That in a nutshell is the situation of the song.
We have Anjana Mumtaz (who plays Kadar Khan’s wife) & Johnny Lever shaking a leg to the song which was written by Sameer & composed by Anand-Milind. It is in the voices of Anuradha Paudwal & Vinod Rathod.
It is by design that I have chosen a song that has Raveena Tandon on-screen. It is her birthday too. She was born to Ravi Tandon (a filmmaker) & Veena in Mumbai. That is why she was named RAVEENA. She is the niece of character actor Mac Mohan, and sister-in-law of Rakhee Tandon (who was famous as ‘Sweety Mathur’ in the serial ‘Hum Paanch’ in the 1990s). Raveena Tandon made her acting debut in the 1991 released “Patthar Ke Phool” as Salman Khan’s heroine. ‘Andaz Apna Apna’ & ‘Mohra’ were the films with which she gained recognition & success. She was quite popular in the 1990s & her filmography boasts of commercial entertainers as well as offbeat movies. A natural dancer who radiated oomph by the bucket, Raveena literally set the silver screen on fire with her moves. She married film distributor Anil Thadani in 2004 and has two children from the marriage. She has also adopted two girls in 1995, who are married. She has been appearing in web series for the last few years now.

Advance wishes to the female playback singer of the song- Anuradha Paudwal. She was born on 27th October 1954. She is a huge fan of Lata Mangeshkar. When all of eighteen, she married Arun Paudwal who often assisted famed music director S.D. Burman. It was for Burman’s film “Abhimaan” (1973) that Arun Paudwal recorded a dummy using her voice- “Shiva Stuti”. This song was to be recorded in Lata Mangeshkar’s voice, but Burman was so pleased with her voice that he used it in the film. Her first solo full-length song was in the film “Kalicharan” (1976). All through the 1970s and early 1980s she sang with the most well known composers and even won the Filmfare Award for Best Female Playback Singer for the 1984 film “Utsav.”
