These days, we take many things in life for granted. But that was not the case in the past. In India of 1950s, for example, one needed permits for even small things in life- viz drinking. Yes, though Indians had adopted democracy, the official mindset was very much that of socialism.

Manna Dey yet again gets to sing a song for a bit actor (Agha this time). And as usual, Manna Dey gives his best in the song. The song may not have won too many popularity contests those days, but for music aficionadoes, this song remains a Manna Dey classic.

Bollywood movie makers often tend to have same titles as that of old movies. For instance, I am aware of three movies titled “Adhikar”. The most well known of them for me is the movie of 1971 which was a musical blockbuster ( though the movie itself did not do well). There was another movie by this name in 1986.
