#Debutant Movie- Alam Ara Ki Beti-1960#
Today we introduce the movie ‘Alam Ara Ki Beti-1960’ on this blog. This movie was passed by Censor Board on 02.02.1960. Initially I was surprised to note this, because I was under the impression that this movie has been represented on the blog long back. But the reason for this was confusing this with the title ‘Alam Ara’. We have three movies with this title made in the year 1931, 1956 & 1973 already available on this blog.
This movie ‘Alam Ara Ki Beti-1960’ was directed by Nanubhai Vakil for Desai Kalamandir, Bombay. Moghabhai Desai was the producer of this movie. The cast of this movie had Naina, Maruti, Daljeet, Prakash, Kanchanmala, Jeevankala, Sadik, Tuntun, Munshi Munakka, Chandabai, Nazmi, Sashimala, M. Kumar, Nadir, Meharbanu, Razzaq, Pawan Kumar, Ismail Azad, Yusuf Azad Qawwaal and others.

Today I am presenting a Qawwaalee song sung by Jaani Babu Qawwaal and Krishna Kalle. The movie is ‘Sakhi Lutera-1969’. This movie had made its debut on the blog on 22.05.2018 with its song ‘sochaa hai tumse pyaar karoon, kyaa khayaal hai’. This song was then presented by our respected Sudhir jee and here is what he had mentioned about the word ‘sakhi’ in the title of such movies and how movies with same titles were repeated in the history of Hindi Films.

Today I am presenting a Qawwaalee song again. It is from an un-released movie of the 1970s which was later used in 1990 in another movie. This movie is titled as ‘Arab Ka Sona’ – for the seventies. Geet Kosh Vol-V mentions this movie under un-released movies of 1971-1980. However, there is no information about the cast of this movie. As per Geet Kosh (1971-1980) this movie was directed by C.K. Kadar for ‘C.K. Films’. Music composer for this movie is Jitin-Shyam. Eight songs are mentioned for this movie each with the name of the singers and lyricist. Geet Kosh has left a space indicating the possibility of more songs in this movie. For the eight songs the lyricists are Aish Kanwal(five songs), Shrikant (one song) and Shabnam Karwaari(two songs). Singers for this movie’s songs are Mohd Rafi, Krishna Bose, Nitin Mukesh, Jaani Babu Qawwaal, and Dilraj Kaur.

Today’s song is a qawwaalee song from the movie ‘Behraam Daaku-1959’. This movie had made its debut on the blog on 01.07.2017 with its song ‘betaab hai dil bechain nazar’ and later one more song ‘tere sitam ki daastaan’ was posted on 08.04.2018.
“Behram Daaku-1959” was directed by Akkoo for ‘Afzal Films, Bombay’. This movie was passed by Censor Board on 20.11.1959 (as mentioned in Geet Kosh Vol-III-1951-1960). It had Manhar Desai, Chitra, Sheikh, Ashraf Khan, Habib, Tuntun, Shyam Kumar, Raj Adib, Menka Kumari, Daraj, Sharda, Babulal, Ranjana and others in it. Once I post the century post in the blog, I heave a big sigh of relief and tell myself that I am free from tension as the next century post is far far away. So it came as a surprise to me that the next cenbtury post for the blog has arrived. I thought that the previous blog century post had appeared just a few days ago ! How can we reach the next century so fast ? On checking up, I realised that the previous century post viz blog post number 18500 has appeared on 14 september 2024. Today is 3 November, so fifty days have passed. 100 songs in 50 days are to be expected, even with the slow rate of posts that we have settled into now a days.
