I find that there are 18 songs listed under ‘Song excluded from movie’ category in this blog. Although the sample is not representative one to come to a definite conclusion, it is interesting to note that O P Nayyar leads in this category with 5 songs followed by Madan Mohan(4 songs), S D Burman (3 songs) and Naushad(2 songs). Sajjad Hussain, Husnalal Bhagatram, Bulo C Rani and Roshan have one song each in this category.

“Aashiq” (1962) was a Reuben Dubey production movie. Bunny Reuben and Vijay Kishore Dubey were the producers of the movie. The movie was directed by Hrishikesh Mukherji. This is a well known evergreen song which most music lovers know even if many of them are not aware of the details of the song. Even I was not aware about the details. It is only now that I have becme aware that this song is from ‘Hamraahi” (1963) and that it is picturised as a melancholic song on Rajendra Kumar and Jamuna.

Starcast of the movie included big names like Ashok Kumar, Nalini Jaiwant, Pran, Durga Khote, Ramayan Tiwari, Cuckoo etc.

Regaining the memories of a song heard long back, I tried to locate it and tried to find more about it. Thankfully, I am able to find the audio posted on the YouTube. But then all other information is new to me. This lovely sound of a melancholic melody by Talat Mehmood, is a song from a film ‘Patthar Ke Khwaab’ (1969), a name that I encountered for the first time today. Pulling together information from Geet Kosh, I find this film is produced under the banner of Nagin Productions, and directed by Pal Premi. The main list of stars includes Mahipal, Parveen Choudhary, Sapru, Madhumati, Amarnath, Mohan Choti, Jeevankala etc.

I have discussed one song from “Aurat”(1953) recently. Not much information about this movie was available on internet till then. bahaaren humko dhoondegi na jaane hum kahaan honge

These two lines of a song from film BAAGHI (1953) sum up the realities of our life. This song penned by Majrooh Sultanpuri and coming out of the magical combination of Lata-Madan Mohan was long overdue to be discussed in this blog. One song from this film has been discussed more than a year back.
