“Bandish” (1955) was a Basu Chitra Mandir Production. It was directed by Satyen Bose. The movie had Ashok Kumar, Meena Kumari,Mehmood, Pratima Devi,Bipin Gupta, Meena Kumari, Daisy Irani, Bhanu Banerji, N. Hussain, Sajjan, Shammi, Indira, Narbada Shanker etc in it.

“Sansaar” (1951) was a Gemini Pictures Production. This movie was a remake of their own Tamil and Telugu movies, both called “Samsaaram”. “Sansaar”(1951) was directed by S S Vasan and the starcast consisted of Ishwarlal, M. K. Radha, Vanaja, Mohana, Agha, Meera, J. S. Kashyap, Anil Kumar, Kalla, Ratnappa, Pushpavalli, Swaraj, David Abraham. From the cast, it is seen that most characters of the original South Indian language movie were used in the Hindi version too.

During 1950s and 1960s, there used to be quite a few movies with the word “ustaad” in them. This blog have had songs from movies viz “Do Ustaad” (1959), “Ustaadon Ke Ustaad” (1963), “Ustaad 420” (1963), “Ham Sab Ustaad Hain” (1965),”Sab Ka Ustaad” (1967) etc but the movie with the defining word in them, viz “Ustaad” was not among them.
