I have noticed that songs are used as short cuts to the solution of all problems in Hindi movies. Whenever the movie maker is running short of ideas, he would introduce a song. If the characters in the movie are running out of ideas, they will burst into a song. This is in addition to the standard situations for songs in a movie, viz romantic song, sad song, happy song etc.

Bol mere maalik teraa kyaa yahi hai insaaf

In Hindi movies, singing is used almost as a panacea for all problems. Sing a song, and your problems seem to ge solved. There are in fact songs in which the Almighty is called upon to respond, and the Almighty too bows down before the power of a Hindi movie bhajan.

In Bollywood movies, there are A grade movies made by leading producers and directors and then there are also rans whose movies rarely reach mainstream audiences. The same is true for the music of such movies.
