“Mirza Sahiban”(1947) was directed by K Amarnath for Madhukar Pictures. Trilok Kapoor and Noorjehan were the lead pair in the title role of Mirza and Sahiban respectively. Other cast included Roop Kamal, Amir Bano, Gope, Baby Anwari, Cuckoo etc.

In the course of my exercise on Mohammed Rafi’s playback singing career during 1944-50, I had browsed through some of his songs of the films of that period which I had never heard of. One of those films was ‘Jalte Deep’ (1950). As per the information available on the internet, the film was produced under the banner of Nihal Film Corporation and was directed by Deepak Asha (also known as Dharam Kumar). The star cast included Randheer, Nimmi, Amarnath, Kuldeep Kaur, Sofia, Leela Mishra etc. As per http://www.myswar.com, ‘Jalte Deep’ (1950) has 12 songs written by 3 lyricists –Aziz Kashmiri, Nazim Panipati and M A Taj. The songs were composed by Sardul Kwatra and T K Das.

Going through the posts in the blog does not give readers an indication of my whereabouts at the time of posting, unless I mention it. When I think about it, I have been to several places in the last few months and my posts have been made from places like Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Delhi, Gujarat, Maharashtra etc in addition to my present day location in Chattisgarh. Even in Chhattisgarh, I do not remain at one fixed place all the time.

When needy people need help, they often appeal for help, and help pours in from all quarters.
