I have been discussing a K L Saigal song daily in this blog and I have so far discussed 58 such songs. I have now reached a stage where almost all the K L Saigal songs uploaded on youtube have been exhausted. Now we are entering into slighly deeper waters as far as K L Saigal songs are concerned. All the songs that one tended to listen to at the stroke of 8 AM in radio Ceylon in the past decades have been covered and now the remaining K L Saigal songs are more rare as far as many listeners, including I am concerned.

I have remarked in the past that “Bhakt Surdas” (1942) is a treasure of great K L Saigal songs. Correction- It has great songs, not just by the great man, but also by the female lead of the movie. Yes, Khurshid, the female lead of this movie also shines with her singing in this movie.

In my younger days, K L Saigal was a “boring” singer, but now I can not have enough of K L Saigal songs. I find listening to K L Saigal songs a divine experience these days, as it reminds me of those days several decades ago, when most radios in India would play radio Ceylon in early mornings. 7-30 to 8 AM was the most “boring” period on Radio Ceylon, as it was during this time that “puraani filmon ke geet” were played, culminating into a K L Saigal song as the last song.

Here is a wonderful song that I discovered just now. To be honest I had discovered it some one year back but I had not listened to it and then I had forgotten all about it. Just now I listened to this song and I was amazed at how modern this song sounds even today, even though it is a song from as far back as 1942.
