Most Hindi movie songs have been written by lyricists who were around at the time when these songs were composed. But there are some cases where the lyricists lived in an earlier era and they were dead and buried/cremated long before their creations were used in Hindi movie songs. For instance, Hindi movies have used songs written by Ghalib,Meera bai etc who lived in the 19th century and 15th century respectively. I have been discussing a K L Saigal song daily in this blog and I have so far discussed 58 such songs. Now that I think about it, there were a few standard K L Saigal songs that were recycled repeatedly in this programme. I have a feeling that all the K L Saigal songs that were played in that programme have been covered in this blog. I am now in fact covering those K L Saigal songs that are lesser known and which were rarely played in the above mentioned programme .
