“Gehra Daagh” was a movie of 1963. I was not aware about this movie till recently ( that is till yesterday).
This movie had Rajendra Kumar and Mala Sinha in lead roles.
Just because I was not aware of this movie does not mean this movie has unknown songs. Take this song from this movie. This song “tumhe paake hamne jahaan paa liyaa hai” is a duet sung by Asha Bhonsle and Rafi. I am sure that I have listened to this song many a times in the past, though I was not paying much attention on those occasions.

I have posted over a thousand songs in this blog so far. Most songs are 3 to 4 minutes long and their lyrics are about 200 words long. But this qawwali is nearly ten minutes long and its lyrics runs into 800 words !

Manna Dey was one singer, who despite his ability, was typecast as a singer for bit actors. There were very few movies where he got to sing for the hero. But whenever he got such a chance, he came up with some superb songs.

In most Bollywood movies, characters speak and sing in mainstream Hindi/ Urdu, but there are movies where they speak a bit differently. For instance, all villagers in Bollywood movies speak in a dialect that is supposedly Bhojpuri even if those villagers live in Sikkim !
