In India there are at least two places where true secularism is strictly followed. One of them is our Armed Forces. There is no discrimination in the Armed Forces on Religion/race/caste/colour or State. In almost every Army establishment you will find a Mosque,a Mandir and a Church along with a common hall for meditation for all other faiths. People from all states join the Forces. One may say,why then are there Jaat Regiments, Maratha Regiments, Mahar Regiments, Punjab Regiments ? It must be understood that these are the names given by the Britishers to recognise the special qualities of that region. It has nothing to do with Caste or Language. The Commandant of a Maratha Regiment can be a Punjabi officer also.

I have noticed only today in the stats page that Rafi Sahab has just crossed the milestone of 2200 songs in the blog. The event went unnoticed and unacknowledged. So it may be alright to celebrate the occasion with another Rafi duet song in this series. Point to be noted here is all solos by Rafi sahab that could have matched this theme were already covered in the blog, leaving a host of duets with less famous female singers, which I have covered in this series.

I have noticed that some of the regulars on the blog have shortened the name of ‘atulsongaday’ as ‘ASAD’. They might be interested to know that ‘Asad’ in urdu and Arabic means ‘Lion’. Now there is one famous personality named such, we are familiar with i.e. “Asadullah Khan Ghalib”. And ‘Lions’ by nature are hunters and like to roar. Mirza Ghalib was a different story, as even if he roared, it turned into sheer poetry. Where as we at ‘atulsongaday’ are more comfortable ‘cooing’ as a ‘Dove’. At least I prefer to thinks so.
