It was a farmaish from Prakash ji that was pending for some time. In that write up, I had written that the film has some more wonderful songs, and had promised I would be posting more songs from this film. So here is the next song from this film. This is a gem of a duet rendered by Manna Dey and Suman Kalyanpur. The lyrics for this film are penned by Indeevar and Gulshan Baawra. The YouTube post identifies the lyricist as Gulshan Baawra.

Among the ‘forgotten’ music directors of the golden era, Snehal Bhatkar is remembered for his immortal song kabhi tanhaayion mein yoon hamaari yaad aayegi. In my case, I remember him for an additional reason. Somehow I felt that he had an unique personality. Sitting in the front row with his trade mark white Gandhi cap, he was enjoying the rendition of his songs without any nostalgic reactions on his face. Whenever I see his photographs – old as well as new ones, I get the same impression of a contented man.

As per the chronicles of the Rajput dynasties, they trace their origins to Luv, the son of Lord Ram. Their flag, which is supposedly the flag of Prince Luv, is the insignia of Sun on a crimson background, still flutters on the forts and palaces in Rajasthan.

As I browse through my collection, through the YouTube, and through the Geet Kosh, I have jotted down a fairly long list of films that are still waiting in the wings to find an entry on this blog. And they satisfy two very important criteria that are kind of a thumb rule here. Most of these films are rare and obscure, and more importantly, they have music and songs that are just superb. Rather, these films carry songs that may not be all obscure, they have been popular, or at least played often on the radio, and are in the public memory. But the information about their creators, and the films to which these belong is not easy to relate.
