For the last 13-14 years, I have seen that always original soundtracks of patriotic songs are played on every national festival day morning for at least 2 hours in the flag hoisting ceremony held at the building, adjacent to mine. Every year I am hoping that these songs, some of them very old are being played in my building, but no, they are in the next building:-). Always it is the case of ‘door ke dhol suhaane’ to express in the hindustani parlance.

This song is a poem which is written by Md Iqbal, also known as Allama Iqbal. This song has many versions, which have been sung by many artists. “Dulhan Ke Raat Ki” (1966) utilises this poem as a qawwali/ mujra song, which may not be what this poem is intended to be.
