After the holy month of shraavan, Ganesh Utsav, Eid and other regional festivals it is time for celebration of another big festival all over the country.

It is time for Mahaalayaa. From tomorrow onwards, nine day long or ten day long nav-durgaa festival will commence all over India. In the state of Gujarat where I have been residing for last twenty-one years, people take ‘pad yaatraas’ (walking on foot) during this festival and offer their prayers to the Goddess Ambe (Amba jee), Chamunda Devee (Chotila), Kalika Maataa (Pavagadh) and many other shrines.

“Avtaar”(1983) was a movie of Rajesh Khanna during the second innings of his acting career when he was no longer a superstar. The movies in which Rajesh Khanna acted during this phase won critical acclaim though even if Rajesh Khanna came nowhere close to regaining his lost crown.

“Avtaar” was an Emkay Productions movie. It was produced and directed by Mohan Kumar. The movie had Rajesh Khanna,Shabana Azmi, A.K.Hangal, Sachin, Preeti Sapru, Gulshan Grover, Rajni Sharma, Shashi Puri, Yunus Parwez, Pinchoo Kapoor, Madhu Malini, Ranjan Grewal, Madan Puri, Master Rinku, Shivraj etc in it.
