The song being presented in this post is a song from a movie released in the year 1965. Regulars on the blog would remember that our Respected Sudhir ji had started a series called ‘missing movies of the sixties’ where songs from till then unrepresented movies were introduced. These songs were rare songs that were difficult to find and many of them were not not available online at that time.

Missing Films of 1960s – 46

Today, we introduce the film ‘Chaar Chakram’ from 1965. Another film by the same name was also produced in 1932. The name ‘Chaar Chakram’ takes off on the more familiar Hindi phrases that tell of the friendship amongst four friends – ‘chaar yaar’ and ‘chandaal chaukdi’.
This film was produced under the banner of PM Pictures, Bombay and directed by Sultan. The star cast listed in the Geet Kosh is very detailed. The lead roles are by Shyam Kumar and Leela Kumari, and the supporting cast is Tuntun, SK Prem, Anjum, Fazal Khan, Haroon, Bhagwan, and another long list of names that are not too familiar – Kenny, Bob, Butter, Jilani, Maqbool, Ajeet, A Siddique, Hameeda, Sabeena, Lawrence, Chand, Doctor, Daud, Ameer, Muhammad Sandow, Ahmed, Zeenat, Purushottam, Bhai Das, and Iqbal.
