Sambandh (1969) is a movie that was based on a Bangla novel called “Pratham Prem” written by Achintya Kumar Sengupta. This movie was produced by Shashdhar Mukherjee film syndicate Private Limited. “Raahgeer” (1969), also spelt “Rahgir” is a forgotten movie even though it is a “recent” movie by the standads of this blog. This movie was a Geetanjali Chitradeep production and it was directed by Tarun Majumdar. This movie had Biswjeet, Nirupa Roy, Asit sen,Sandhya Roy,Basantha/vasantha Chowdhury,Shashikala, Padma Chauhan,Anwar Hussain, Pahari Sanyal, Master Prasenjit,Ifthekar, Kanhaiyyalal etc in it.

While discussing lori (lullaby) songs, I have mentioned that most lullabies are sung by female singers and picturised on actresses playing mother to some tiny tot. But it does not mean that there have not been lories sung by male singers. There may be just a few such songs but they are there.

“Chakradhaari” (1954) is a religious /mythological movie about Gora, a potter who lived in the present day Maharashtra in the 13th century. He became a leading Saint of the area and he was a contemporary of the other Saints of Maharashtra viz Saint Dnyaneshwar and Namdeo.

In this blog, I often get farmaishes (requests) for songs to be discussed. Most of the songs are relatively well known songs and/or songs that are easy to find. The challenge in their case is to try and accomodate them in the blog within the limitation that one can only discuss a few songs in a day.

“Duniya Jhukti Hai” (1960) is a movie starring Shyama and Sunil Dutt. I do not have much information about this movie. But it appears that this movie has some nice songs in it.
