JAWAAB (1942) was produced under the banner of M P Productions and it was directed by P C Barua who was also the lead actor in the movie alongwith Kanan Devi and Jamuna. The box office success of this film was very important for him as he has turned producer under his newly created production company, M P Productions after leaving New Theatres in 1940. His first two films ‘Uttarayan’ and ‘Rani’ under his own banner were financial disasters. But the success of ‘Shesh Uttar (in Bengali) and its Hindi version ‘Jawaab’ (1942) silenced his critics who were predicting slow and sure downfall for him from his earlier success of ‘Devdas’ (1935) and ‘Mukti’ (1937).

“Miss Mary” (1957) was an AVM production movie. It was produced by A V Meiyappan and directed by L V Prasad. The movie had Meena Kumari, Kishore Kumar, Gemini Ganeshan, Jamuna, Achla Sachdev, Jagdish Sethi, Randhir, Om Prakash, Karunanidhi, Maruti, Shivraj, Kesari, Meenakshi etc in it.

Here is another song of the popular genre namely “How come this song was not yet discussed ! ” 🙂

This is a well known evergreen song which most music lovers know even if many of them are not aware of the details of the song. Even I was not aware about the details. It is only now that I have becme aware that this song is from ‘Hamraahi” (1963) and that it is picturised as a melancholic song on Rajendra Kumar and Jamuna.
