Suraiyya, who made her debut in Hindi movies as a child artist in 1942, began to get the roles of heroines from 1946 onwards. In “Parwaanaa” (1947), she got to act opposite K L Saigal, then the reigning superstar of the time.

I have so far discussed songs from “Singaar” (1949) that were sung by Suraiyya and Surinder Kaur and picturised on Suraiyya and Madhubala respectively. This movie also has songs sung by other singers and picturised on lesser actors.

I came across this song from a very old movie called “Singaar” (1949). The artists involved in creating this song are not all that well known today. The singer is Surinder Kaur and the lyricist is Nakshab. Khursheed Anwar composed the music.
