Jeene ke dhang sikhaaye jaa

on:“Parwaanaa” (1947) is a movie which had K L Saigal, the then reigning K L Saigal acting opposite the then rising star Suraiyya. And both of them had sung their own songs, of course.
I have discussed as many as five songs from this movie in the past. Here is another song from this movie. This song is sung by K L Saigal. He looks at Suraiyya, a girl, who despite her modest backcround is full of joie de vivre, and who can teach others how to be happy in life and how to enjoy it. This song is based on that fact. K L Saigal sings this song where he asks her to teach the world how to live life.
The lyrics are simple yet philosophical. D N Madhok, who has become one of my favourite lyricists among the earliest batch of lyricists, has written this song. Khursheed Anwar is the music director.

Song-Jeene ka dhang sikhaaye jaa (Parwaanaa) (1947) Singer-K L Saigal, Lyrics-D N Madhok, MD-Khursheed Anwar
Lyrics
he he he
kaliyaan khilaaye jaa
shabnam ke ashq apni hansi
mein chhipaaye jaa
jeene ka dhang sikhaaye jaa
kaanton ki nok par khadaa
muskuraaye jaa
jeene ka dhang sikhaaye jaa
kaanton ki nok par khadaa
muskuraaye jaa
jeene ka dhang sikhaaye jaa
bhanwre ne tere kaan mein kuchh
gungunaa diya
bhanwre ne tere kaan mein kuchh
gungunaa diya
ye kaise raaz e zindagi tujhko bataa diyaa
ye kaise raaz e zindagi tujhko bataa diyaa
rote huye jahaan mein
tu muskuraaye jaa
tu muskuraaye jaa
jeene ka dhang sikhaaye jaa
kaanton ki nok par khadaa muskuraaye jaa
jeene ka dhang sikhaaye jaa
bulbul ki sadaaaon mein bhi
paighaam yahi hai
bulbul ki sadaaaon mein bhi
paighaam yahi hai
koyal ki bhi har kook
subah shaam yahi hai
koyal ki bhi har kook
subah shaam yahi hai
o hanse huye phool tere
husn ke sadqe
o hanse huye phool tere
husn ke sadqe
patjhad mein kyaa kare koi
itna bataaye jaa
itna bataaye jaa
jeene ka dhang sikhaaye jaa
kaanton ki nok par khadaa muskuraaye jaa
jeene ka dhang sikhaaye jaa

Atul-ji,
Many many thanks for this song. On the anniversary of my fathers demise, I got to hear one of his favourite singers (others being KC Dey, CH Atma, Jagmohan Sursagar, Pankaj Mullik, Juthika Roy and the ilk), and his favourite song too.
Regards, and thanks!
