Today’s song is from the film Ankh ka Nasha(1956).

Same Title films were also made in 1928 and 1933. The Talkie film of 1933 was a remake of the 1928 Silent film. Today’s film was made by Natraj Productions, Bombay and was produced by a Trio of Madan- Ved and Daljeet. The film was directed by the Debut making team of Ved-Madan. They went on directing 8 more films in next 14 years. Their films were Johnny Walker (1957), Mr. Cartoon M.A.(1958), Kala Admi(1960), First Love(1961), Neeli Aankhen(1962), Gazal(1964), Haye Mera Dil(1968) and Sau saal beet gaye(1970). The Lyricist of all the 7 songs was Harsh and the Music Composer was Pt.Dhaniram. The cast of the film was Anita Guha, M.Rajan, Raj mehra, Shammi, Chaman Puri, W.M.Khan, Helen etc

Today’s song is a Special song having a Historical Value. It is from the film Andhon ki Duniya-1947.

There is a solid reason why I am calling this song a Special song with Historical value. Every singer has a First song in his career. For an ordinary or a less famous singer this First song has no problem, but in the case of an established, famous, Popular and for one who has sung in several languages, the First Song has many cousins. First song means which song ? Is it the First recorded song, or the First released song, or First song in any language or First song in Hindi Film or First song filmed on the singer on screen or the First Playback song in Hindi film or a First song as NFS or a first solo song ?

Raat hai nikhhri huyi

I just stumbled upon a beautiful duet ‘raat hai nikhri huyi’ sung by Krishna Goyal and Geeta Dutt from the film MALLIKAA (1956) under the music direction of the great Hansraj Bahl. Tanveer Naqvi is the lyricist.

Insaan jo rotaa hai to rotaa hi rahegaa

“Ladki” (1953) is a movie starring Bharat Bhushan,Vyjyantimala,Kishore Kumar, Anjali devi etc. I find, much to my own surprise, that I have discussed as many as four songs from this movie ! I also notice that I have mentioned C Ramchadra as the music director for those songs, but in the song that I am going to discuss here, R Sudarshan-Dhaniram are listed as the music directors ! I request my knowledgeable readers to help clarify this confusion of music directors.

Aajaa nigaahon mein aajaa

I have posted four songs from “Dahej” (1950) and I thought I had covered all the songs that are available. While posting those songs, I had not realised that all these songs were sung by female singers. As many as four female singers had sung in these songs. The heroine Jayshee in fact has sung her own songs in this movie.
