If there are beaches, then why should there not be songs picturised on beaches. Of course there are such songs, even if they are far less in number than songs supposed to be picturised around trees. 😉

In 1950s and 1960s, there tended to be movies titled after important landmarks. For example, “Lal Quila” “Gateway of India” etc. These movies tended to go into oblivion soon after their release.

This song from “Sadhana” (1958 ) did not have Sadhana in it, just as “Kalpana” (1960) did not have Kalpana in that movie. “Sadhana” had Vyjyanti Mala and Sunil Dutt in lead roles.

“Dhool ka Phool” (1959) was a moving tale about an unwed mother and her child. Mala Sinha falls in love with Rajendra Kumar and they have a pre marital fling,assured in the knowledge that they would get married to each other. But then Rajendra Kumar ditches her and gets married to a girl of his parents’ choice. And Mala Sinha, as can be expected, is pregnant.
