“Naukar” (1979) was produced by Ismail Memon & Govind Ahuja, directed by Ismail Memon, music was composed by R D Burman and the songs were written by Majrooh Sultanpuri. Asha Bhonsle, Kishore Kumar, Mohd. Rafi and Lata Mangeshkar were the playback singers used for the five songs, three of which are on the blog.

Naukar (1943), was a Sunrise Pictures,Bombay, presentation. it was directed by Syed Shaukat Hussain Rizvi (who later married Noorjehan).
The film was based on the story by a famous Urdu Novelist in those days janaab ‘Manto’. The music was by Rafiq Gaznavi and Shanti kumar. There were three Lyricist, Akhtar Shirani, Munshi Shams, and Nazim Panipati.
The cast was of Shobhana Samarth, Noorjehan, Balwant Singh, Chandramohan, Mirza Musharraf, Yaqub, Khwaja Saabir, Shamsuddin, Miss Moti, etc.

“Naukar” (1979) was produced by Ismail Memon and Govind Ahuja and directed by Ismail Memon. The movie had Sanjeev Kumar, Jaya Bhaduri, Mehmood, Manmohan Krishna, Madhu Malini, Lalita Pawar, Yogita Bali etc in it. This movie was a light hearted comedy movie that likes of which were quite popular in 1970s.

I am going down memory lane, to my school days. We would come back from school at 3:30 p.m. and at that time Vividh Bharati would be silent till 5:30 p.m. So we would put on the radio and searching for songs, invariably we found All India Radio (Urdu service) where they broadcast the programme “aap ki farmaish” which continued till 5 o’clock.
