Today (10 december 2013) is the ninth death anniversary of Homi Wadia (22 may 1911- 10 december 2004). He was the co founder of Wadia Movietone. Later he set up Basant Pictures. He is well known for his Fearless Nadia series of movies. He later married Fearless Nadia and thus Nadia became Nadia Wadia. 🙂

It is the turn of “Q” now. I had decided on this song sometime ago. And having looked for other options too, came back to this song.

The singer here singing a Rafi solo, is an unknown actor. He is a tailor by profession and has been offered 1000 dinars to stitch up a dead body. How morbid, I thought. Hence I was looking for a different occasion, location , occupation kind of song. But it turns out that this is the “Q ‘ song for the time being. The poor fellow has an unpleasant task in front of him and an obscene amount of money for this work which will take care of his poverty for a while.

Today (8 september 2013) is the 80th birth anniversary of Asha Bhonsle. On this occasion, here is a forgotten musical gem from this equally forgotten movie. This song is a duet which is sung by Asha Bhonsle and Mukesh. B D Mishra is the lyricist. Music is composed by S N Tripathi.
