A voice that has regaled music lovers for over seven decades now, will not be heard any more. Manna Da breathed his last early morning today, at a hospital in Bangalore, having been unwell for the past few months.

Here is the ‘U’ song in the series of A-Z of Rafi songs. I knew this song vaguely, but when looking for ‘U” song in the list, I could not recognize it. I decided to try it because it is a Rafi solo composed by Shankar-Jaikishan. I heard the whole song and picturization, I liked the energy and mischief in the composition. The lyricist is Hasrat Jaipuri.
