I had once mentioned that the version of song seen in the movie and heard in the records was often different because they were recorded on two separate occassions. Imagine a great song being recorded not once but twice ! Once for the movie sound track, and once for the record company.

1960 was a year of musical blockbusters. “Chaudhvin ka chaand” (1960) was one such movie. Almost every song from this movie has gone on to become an iconic song.

“Dharti” (1970) was one of the last movies in which both Rajendra Kumar and Waheeda Rehman were seen in lead roles. By this time both had begun to show their ages and were soon upstaged by younger and fresher faces.
