“Bees Saal Baad” (1962), which is regarded as a milestone in Bollywood suspense movies, had some nice songs as well. Shakeel Badayuni was the lyricist and Hemant Kumar had composed the music.

In 1950s and 1960s, there tended to be movies titled after important landmarks. For example, “Lal Quila” “Gateway of India” etc. These movies tended to go into oblivion soon after their release.

Kyun chameli khilkhilaati hai bataa

This movie called “Bahut Din Huye” (1954) had as many as 16 songs.14 were composed by B S Kalla and 2 by E Shastry. With so many songs in this movie, I wonder if there was any time left for normal dialogues in this movie. 😉
