Michael hai to cycle hai

There is one genre of songs in Bollywood that could be called Kishore kumar acted comedy songs. These songs, where Kishore Kumar acts as well as sings, and in addition does some great comedy as well, are worth going miles to watch.
A few of his songs are well known, but there are many of his comedy songs that have been forgotten.
Here is a wonderful comedy song from “Bewaqoof” (1960). It is sung by Kishore Kumar and Asha Bhonsle and picturised on Kishore Kumar and Mala Sinha who sing this song riding a bicycle. Yes, this is a bicycle song as well.
And much of the comedy in this song is derived from the rhyming words “Michael” and “Cycle”. Majrooh Sultanpuri, otherwise known for penning more serious stuff, has come up with this light hearted song. S D Burman is the music director.
