Suniye huzoor pyaar ka charchaa na keejiye

on:Here is a rare song from an obscure movie that I heard for the first time only recently. Though the song is more than six decades old, it sounds so refreshing and timeless even today.
The song is a duet which is sung by Geeta Dutt and S D Batish. The two have sung this song with gusto. Rajinder Krishan has come up with the lovely lyrics of the song. Husnlal Bhagatram composed the music.
The movie is called “Surajmukhee” (1950). I have no idea about the actors of this movie so it is difficult to tell how this song was picturised. I request my knowledgeable readers to throw more light on this movie and this song.
Song-Suniye huzoor pyaar ka charcha na keejiye (Surajmukhi) (1950) Singers-Geeta Dutt, S D Batish, Lyrics-Rajinder Krishan, MD-Husnlal Bhagatram
Lyrics
suniye huzoor pyaar ka charcha na keejiye
aur aap bhi to pyaar se dekhaa na keejiye
suniye huzoor pyaar ka charcha na keejiye
dil dar rahaa hai
pyaar mein afsaanaa ban na jaaye
dil dar rahaa hai
pyaar mein afsaanaa ban na jaaye
uljhan mein aa padaa hai
ye deewaana ban na jaayiye
hardam mere khayaal mein aaya na keejiye
suniye huzoor pyaar ka charcha na keejiye
anjaan banke mujhse na nazren churaayiye
dil par na mere is tarah bijli na keejiye
aisa na keejiye aji aise na keejiye
suniye huzoor pyaar ka charcha na keejiye
mere gareeb dil ka sahaaraa tumhi to ho
mere gareeb dil ka sahaaraa tumhi to ho
mera naseeb meri tamanna tumhi to ho
yoon mujhse door rahke sataayaa na keejiye
suniye huzoor pyaar ka charcha na keejiye
hai aarzoo ke pyaar ki duniya basaayen ham
ham aapke hai
aapko apna banaayen ham
inkaar karke dil mera todaa na keejiye
suniye huzoor pyaar ka charcha na keejiye

Info on Surajmukhi :
Produced by-Madhuban Production co.
Directed by – O.P.Dutta
Music by- Husnalal Bhagatram
Cast-Shyam,Rehana,Durga Khote,Gope,Mukri,Hafizkhan,Cuckoo,Yashodhara katju etc.
It was a love story of rich boy-poor girl type routine plot, but the handling was so naive, being Dutta’s only second movie, that it only added misery to the weak storyline. The movie did not run much in those days when other excellent films of 1950 were patronised by the public.
