Huyi ye hamse naadaani teri mehfil mein aa baithhe

While the going is good (read I have access to internet in a place where such internet access is the stuff of fairytales), I am trying to discuss songs in a hurry, before the internet and electricity decide to do their disappearing act that is normal in these parts of India where I temporarily find myself.
This song is from “Chor Baazaar” (1954). It is sung by Lata. Shakeel Badayuni is the lyricist. Music is composed by Sardar Malik.
Though most sources describe the actress as Sumitra Devi, I read a comment on internet describing her as Chitra. I request my knowledgeable readers to throw more lights on the affairs of this movie and the actress.
PS-It is Chitra. I thank Mr Arunkumar Deshmukh for identifying her.

Song-Huyi ye hamse naadaani teri mehfil mein aa baithhe (Chor Baazaar) (1954) Singer-Lata, Lyrics-Shakeel Badayuni, MD-Sardar Malik
Lyrics
huyi ye ham se naadaani teri mehfil mein aa baithe
huyi ye ham se naadaani teri mehfil mein aa baithe
zameen ki khaaq hokar aasmaan se dil lagaa baithe
teri mehfil mein aa baithe
huaa khoon-e-tamannaa iskaa shiqwaa kya karen tumse
huaa khoon-e-tamannaa iskaa shiqwaa kya karen tumse
wo shiqwaa kya karen tumse
na kuchh sochaa na kuchh samjhaa jigar pe teer khaa baithe
teri mehfil mein aa baithe
khabar kyaa thhi gulistaan-e-muhabbat mein bhi khatren hain
khabar kyaa thhi gulistaan-e-muhabbat mein bhi khatren hain
muhabbat mein bhi khatren hain
jahaan girti hai bijli ham usi daali pe aa baithe
teri mehfil mein aa baithe
na kyun anjaam-e-ulfat dekh kar aansoo nikal aaye
haay aansoo nikal aaye
jahaan ko lootne waale khud apnaa ghar lutaa baithe
huyi ye ham se naadaani teri mehfil mein aa baithe
zameen ki khaaq hokar aasmaan se dil lagaa baithe
teri mehfil mein aa baithe

What a song! It brought back some very special memories.
During my commuting days in the late 70’s I happened to be humming this song while waiting for the train to pull away from Anand and a gentlemen from the next cabin came looking for me asking around ‘Chor Bazaar ka gaana kaun gunguna raha tha’ We spent the rest of the journey discussing some rare songs, alas, I was never able to take up his invitation to go and spend an evening at his place in Baroda to listen to his collection of rare songs!
By the way, there a lovely Talat Mahmood song in this film ‘Tere dar pe aaya hun fariyad lekar’

Atul ji,
In Chor bazar, both Sumitradevi and Chitra have acted. In the above song it is Chitra, who was a B and C grade film heroine in the 60s.She specialised in Tarzan,Captain Kishore and Zimbo type movies. She acted in about 80 movies and her last movie was in 2007.she died in Dec.2007.
Sumitra Devi had a short span from 1948(Oonch Neech) to 1956(Jaagte Raho) consisting of only 10 films.
Chor Bazar was a Shammi Kapoor film.
