This blog reaches landmarks at regular intervals. I have divided this landmarks into two categories:-
Category one landmarks:- which are achieved as a result of posting articles. Example being, century of blog posts, thousands of blog posts, century post of artists, thousandth post of artists etc. As can be seen one needs to post one hundred articles for a century post to materialise and so on.
Category two landmarks:- These are landmarks that are not in our control and they are dependent on time and happen with time largely irrespective of blog post activities . For example, blog completing 100 days or 100 days. Visitors reaching a certain number in the blog etc.
Two days ago (on 14 April 2026), the blog reached a category two landmark when 18 millionth visitor visited the blog. As mentioned earlier, this is a landmark that takes place on its own. It went largely unnoticed but for an alert regular who pointed it out to us on the night of 14 april 2026 that the blog visitors count had reached 18 millions.
This leads to a natural query. If the blog had clocked 18 million visits, then it must have clocked one millionth visit. two millionth vists etc as well. Do we have records of thse landmarks avilable to us. Yes indeed.

If we take an overall average, the blog has averaged 2778 visits daily from the time the blog started on 19 July 2008.
One can observe that the daily average which used to be over 4000 visits and even 5000 visits daily has come down to below 3000 visitors daily. But what matters is that the blog continues to be patronised by lovers of old HFM.
This occasion needs to be celebrated with a nice song. For this occasion, I have located a song from “Shatranj Ke Mohre”(1974). It was an obscure movie, which was produced by Ashok Chandra and directed by Shibu Mitra for Saket Films, Bombay. The movie had Neetu Singh, Rakesh Pandey, Pradeep Kumar, Satyen Kapoo, Nitin Sethi, Dulari, Geeta Sidharth etc in it.
“Shatranj Ke Mohre”(1974) had 4 songs in it that were written by three lyricists – Neeraj (2), Nida Fazli (1) and Ravindra Jain (1). Music was composed by Ravindra Jain.
One song from the movie has been covered in the past.
Here is the second song from “Shatranj Ke Mohre”(1974) to appear in the blog. This song is sung by Aarti Mukherjee, Rafi and chorus. The song is picturised as a picnic song. Initially the song is lip synce by two minor actors (whom I am unable to identify). But soon, as typically happens in Hindi movies, the lead actors (Neetu Singh and Rakesh Pandey) who are watching the revelry from a distance, begin imagining themselves to be lip syncing the song.
A few days back, a post on Mukesh songs on Rakesh Pandey was covered in the blog. In that post, it was wondered whether Rakesh Pandey had lip synced in the voices of other playback singers apart from Mukesh. So here is the answer. yes, Rakesh Pandey has lip synced in the voice of Rafi. The song may be an obscure song, which is a natural fate for the songs of a movie that failed at the box office. The song itself is quite hummable to listen to.
I request out knowledgeable readers to throw light on the movie as well as on the picturisation of this song on the other actors (apart from the lead actors).
