“Mili” (1975) was a copy of “Anand” (1971) which in turn was a copy of a Japanese award winning movie that Hrishikesh Mukherji had seen in a film festival sometime in late 1960s. I do not now remember the name of this movie but I had read about it in magazines of 1970s. I request other readers to tell me the name of this movie which inspired these movies.
Both “Anand” (1971) and “Mili”(1975) had fantastic songs in them. I started discussing the songs of “Mili” (1975) rather late in this blog, and so far only two songs from this movie have been discussed here.
Here is another song from this movie. This song is sung by Kishore Kumar. Majrooh Sultanpuri is the lyricist. Music is composed by S D Burman.
This fanstastic pathos filled song is picturised on Amitabh Bachchan.
Lyrics of this song were sent to me by nahm.

Song-Badi sooni sooni hai (Mili) (1975) Singer-Kishore Kumar, Lyrics-Yogesh, MD-S D Burman
Lyrics(Provided by nahm)
Badi sooni sooni hai
zindagi yeh zindagi
badi sooni sooni hai
zindagi yeh zindagi
main khud se hoon yahaan
ajnabi ajnabi
badi sooni sooni hai
kabhi ek pal bhi
kahin yeh udaasi
dil meraa
bhoole
kabhi muskuraa kar
dabey paaon aa kar
dukh mujhe
chhoo le
na kar mujh se gham mere
dillagi yeh dillagi
badi sooni sooni hai
zindagi yeh zindagi
badi sooni sooni hai
kabhi main na soyaa
kahin mujh se khoyaa
kabhi main na soyaa
kahin mujh se khoyaa
sukh meraa aise
pataa naam likh kar
kahin yun hi rakh kar
bhooley koyi jaise
ajab dukh bhari hai yeh
bebasi yeh bebasi
badi sooni sooni hai
zindagi yeh zindagi
main khud se hoon yahaan
ajnabi ajnabi
badi sooni sooni hai

Badi sooni sooni hai, zindagi yeh zindagi
main khud se hoon yahaan, ajnabi ajnabi
This life of mine is so bleak and desolate
In this loneliness I am a stranger to my own self
kabhi ek pal bhi, kahin yeh udaasi
dil meraa. . . bhoole
kabhi muskuraa kar, dabey paaon aa kar
dukh mujhe. . . chhoo le
na kar mujh se gham mere, dillagi yeh dillagi
Be it so that even for an instance, my heart would forsake this lifeless gloom
Be it so that some instance, even grief would come an smilingly touch me
I implore this sadness of mine, play these games with me no more
kabhi mein na soya, kahin mujh se khoyaa
sukh meraa aise
pataa naam likh kar, kahin yun hi rakh kar
bhooley koyi jaise
ajab dukh bhari hai yeh, bebasi yeh bebasi
Sleep is lost from eyes, for ages
My ecstasies are misplaced from me
Just as one forgets where it is,
After having kept something very safely
Woe this helplessness, that is suffused with such a peculiar anguish
(NOTE: the example used by the poet for safekeeping and forgetting is – one usually writes down a name and contact information, and then keep that scrap of paper very safely somewhere, and then forget it. The poet says, that is how he seems to have misplaced his happinesses).

Lyricist is Yogesh, not Majrooh.
