Lyrics(Provided by Atif M)

duniya ne teri duniya waale
sukh chain hamaara chheen liya
sukh chain hamaara chheen liya
pehle to basaayi dil mein khushi
phir dil ka sahaara chheen liya
phir dil ka sahaara chheen liya
duniya ne teri duniya waale

kya kaam hamein ab jeene se
marne ki duaaen kyun na karen aen
kyun na karen
toofaan mein kashti aan phansi
maujon ne kinaara chheen liya
maujon ne kinaara chheen liya
duniya ne teri duniya waale

ae gham ki ghata jaa aur kahin
ae gham ki ghata jaa aur kahin
ab paas hamaare kuchh bhi nahin
ab paas hamaare kuchh bhi nahin
o kuchh bhi nahin
chamkaaya tha jis ne qismat ko
tu ne woh sitaara chheen liya
tu ne woh sitaara chheen liya
duniya ne teri duniya waale
sukh chain hamaara chheen liya
sukh chain hamaara chheen liya
duniya ne teri duniya waale

Every song in ‘Deedhar’ is a gem!
Atul-ji, here’s a trivia from this movie: Do you know who are the child artistes who portrayed Nargis and Dilip Kumar in their ‘bachpan’? They’re Tabassum and Parikshit Sahni!

Nice bit of trivia, Mani. Parikshit Sahni – is he connected in any way to Balraj Sahni?

Yes, every single song from Deedar is a classic. My personal favs – Chaman Mein Reh Ke Weerana & Le Ja Meri Duaaen

Parikshit Sahni is Balraj Sahni’s son.

His real name was AJAY SAHNI.

His real name was Parikshat Sahni. He changed it to Ajay for his early movie career and then went back to Parikshat. In one of his interview he said that, when his mother was pregnant with him, she was appearing for some kinda “Pariksha” at Shanti Niketan, and hence Ravindranath Tagore named him “Parikshat”. It is not “Parikshit”, its “Parikshat”.

Very interesting, bluefireji.
Today Sept. 16, birthday of Bharat Ratna M. S. Subbulakshmi.
A lady of a great soul come to the holy land of India to make every Indian proud when she give a concert in UN in early 60’s.

Derubala Ji, the one regret I have in life is that I never got to meet M.S.Subbulakshmi Ji. She was a family friend of my wife’s family and in fact, she even sung at my in-laws wedding in one of the functions. She was the most divine singer. Her “Venkatesa Suprabatham” which plays every day at 3AM @ Tirupathi is sheer pleasure to listen to. The other song is “Kurai Ondrum Illai”, one of those very few devotional songs which does not ask God for favours, but says, I have no wants, I am so thankful to you O God. This song was incidentally written by Rajagopalachari, the last Governor General of India.

Pradeepji, only a blessed soul can hear her divine recitals.
Shri Rajagopalachari & Mrs. M.S.S. both are Bharaat ratna too.
your in-laws are the luckiest couple on this earth 🙂

I agree Derubala Ji. And good things happen to good people. I do not know a better hearted person in this world than my father in law.
