“Nawab Sahib” (1978) was produced by Satnam Rohra and directed by Rajinder Singh Bedi. The movie had Rehana Sultan, Parikshit Sahni, Johnny Walkar, Omprakash, Bharat Bhushan, Farida jalal, Chaman Puri,Tamanna, Ranjeet,Chand Usmani etc in it.
The movie was not well known even during its time and by now it has emded up as a forgotten movie.
If this movie is still remembered today, then the credit should go to the song under discussion. As it is, I had haerd this song during its time, but I was not aware about its details at that time. It is only now that I have become aware that this song belonged to this movie.
This song is sung by Usha Mangeshkar. It is picturised on Tamanna, with Rehana Sultan also present in the picturisation and Parikshit Sahni also visible in the picturisation.
Sahir Ludhianvi is the lyricist. Music is composed by C Arjun.

Nice song, but ruined by Usha Mangeshkar. Just like, Do Panchhi Do Tinkhe (Tapasya) ruined by Aarti Mukherjee and Tu Mera Kya Laage (Oonche Log) ruined by Salma Agha, but Kishore Kumar was there in both of them to save the day.

Totally disagreed that the song under discussion is ruined by Ushaji rather, in my opinion the USP of this song is USHA MANGESHKAR.

Aarthi Mukherjee,Usha Mangeshkar,Dilraj Kaur,Hemlata,Salma agha,Anupama Deshpande,Sharada,shama chittara ya hemady,Sulakshana Pandit…….the list is endless, they all have their own distinctive sweet voice…….sab logon ka, unhika ek alag pehchaan hai

Thanks Sir for the endorsement. Much disappointed by the comment no.2 epsecially by the word “ruined” coz Ab se pehle as well as Do Panchhi Do Tinkhe are my all time favourite songs. Moreover if I have to use the word ruined then it will suited best for most of (not all) so-called singers of my generation i.e. 21st century’s singers.

Each singer has it own charm and stamp of originality. If they try to sing like popular singers we will be the first to brand them as copycats.

Just like certain actors dont work in particular roles, certain singers dont work for certain types of songs. Thats an individual opinion, of course.
