#the Decade of Seventies – 1971 – 1980 #

# Bhoole-Bisre Geet # 10 # Kishore Kumar – 2
———————————————

In my earlier post I had mentioned Kishore Kumar as the ‘voice of the Seventies’, because there are many many songs of Kishore Kumar songs that are associated with the beautiful memories of people like me who have grown in the seventies.

In 70s his voice sounds so different from the earlier years of his career and he has that special quality of bringing the mannerisms of the stars in his singing and thus it suits everyone – from a newcomer- to the already established stars in the industry.

This blog is yet to discover many of his songs, and since his main contributions came in the Seventies and extended to the eighties till his passing away, we will have to wait for the many centuries of Kishore songs coming on this blog.

Today’s song is also such a rare forgotten gem from an obscure movie ‘Kshitij-1974’.

I had never heard this song before and when I find this film in the HFGK and its music composed by Sharda it triggered my interest to go through its songs. (One more song from this movie is also available on YT).

Today’s song has been uploaded on YT in 2010 and thanks to the up loader for bringing this for our listening pleasure.

‘Kshitij-1974’ was directed by Prem Kapoor for Roopkamini International, Bombay and it was released on 21.03.1974. It had Zaheera, Bharat Kapoor, Aatam Prakash, Suraj Sajjan, Niranjan Mathur, Manmauji, Purushottam Chhagani, Meena, Amardeep, Ramesh Sinha, and Om Shivpuri in it.
Mahesh Desai, Helen, and Jayant Acharya make special appearance in this movie. And as many as six new comers make their debut on screen with this movie – Jagjit Uppal, Kabir Abbasi, Satyendra Verma, Shani Malik, Manoj Jain and Ramesh Sethi.

Lyrics of this film are by Balkavi Bairagi (for one song sharing the credits with Maha Kavi Kalidas), and its music was composed by Sharda.

(HFGK also mentions this film as the first film of Singer – Suraj (as of now I could not find the song sung by him). In our blog we have one song by Suraj Jagan. I do not know if both are same.)

I had never heard of this movie earlier and would like to request our knowledgeable readers to throw more light on this movie and its songs.

Here is this first song of this movie sung by Kishore Kumar.

Song-Andhe safar mein ham bhi tum bhi (Kshitij)(1974) Singer-Kishore Kumar, Lyrics-Balkavi Bairaagi, MD-Sharda

Lyrics

Andhe safar mein ae
Ham bhi tum bhi
Jeewan ki raahen lambi ee
Andhe safar mein
Ham bhi tum bhi
Jeewan ki raahen lambi ee

Kya tera kya mera
Maaya ka hai pheraa
Kaahe ko bhoole dharam bhi
Ho o o o
Andhe safar mein
ham bhi tum bhi
Jeewan ki raahen lambi ee

Sheeshe ke ghar mein se
Maaro na patthhar
Ho o o
Ho o o o o
Sheeshe ke ghar mein se
Maaro na patthhar
Bada beraham hai
Kismat ka chakkar
Kismat ka chakkar
Kho doge heera janam bhi
Ho o o o
Andhe safar mein
Ham bhi tum bhi
Jeewan ki raahen lambi ee

Maati ka mela hai
Saara jhamela
Ho o o o
Ho o o o o
Maati ka mela hai
Saara jhamela
Pinjre ka panchhi udega akela
Udega akela
Chhootega jhootha bharam bhi
Ho o o o
Andhe safar mein
Ham bhi tum bhi
Jeewan ki raahen lambi ee

Thank you very much for the information Sir.
May be this singer Suraj (in film Kshitij) is different. We have to find this song -‘anjaan nahin aawara nahin, naadan nahin shaitaan nahin, ek dhun hai, kuchh karne ke ye ….’ – as mentioned in hfgk.
Regards,
