“Do Anjaane”(1976) was directed by Dulal Guha. The movie had Amitabh Bachchan, Rekha, Prem Chopra, Mithun Chakraborty, Utpal Dutt, Lalita Pawar, Jagdeep, Pradeep Kumar, Jagdish Raaj, Urmila Bhatt, Brahmachari, Abhi Bhattacharya, Raj Mehra, Lucky, Kanu Roy, Anoop Kumar, Manik Dutt, Chandni, Moolchand, Yasmin, Subroto Mahapatra, Nippon Goswami, Sova Sen etc in it.

Three songs from this movie have been discussed in the past. Here is the fourth and final song from this movie.

This song is sung by Lata. Verma Malik is the lyricist. Music is composed by Kalyanji Anandji.

The song is picturised on Rekha as a stage dance performance song in front of a housefull auditorium.

I have mentioned in the past that important characters of Hindi movies who do not perform onstage are invariably found seated on the front row among the audience, even if they may not belong to the VIP section of society in the movie. This movie had another stage performance song by Rekha and that picturisation showed Amitabh Bachchan seated in the front row.

So I find it a refreshing change to notice that Amitabh Bachchan this time is seen seated not in the front row, but somewhere in the eighth row of the auditorium. So that way this picturisation breaks new ground as far as seating arrangement of lead actor of the movie is concerned. 🙂 Sadly, other moviemakers failed to take a leaf out of this picturisation and continued to put lead actors in the front row is most such picturisations, much to the chagrin of discerning movie watchers like me. 🙂

With this song, “Do Anjaane”(1976) joins the list of movies that have all their songs covered in the blog.

Song-Koi mere saath chaley na chaley (Do Anjaane)(1976) Singer-Lata, Lyrics-Verma Malik, MD-Kalyanji Anandji

Lyrics

Kahin door
kahin door
mujhe jaana hai
kahin door

koi mere saath chaley na chaley ae
koi mere saath chaley na chaley ae
mujhe koi saathi miley na miley
par jaana hai zaroor
kahin door
kahin door
jahaan mere sapnon ka pyaar paley ae
koi mere saath chaley na chaley ae
mujhe koi saathi miley na miley

o o o
ye chaand sitaare
ye chaand sitaare
laage pyaare pyaare
jee chaahta hai
inko chhoo loon
banke badariya
udd udd jaaun
neel gagan ki god mein jhooloon
peechhe chhod ke kahaan
main to chali hoon wahaan aan
jahaan mere sapnon ka pyaar paley ae
koi mere saath chaley na chaley
mujhe koi saathi miley na miley

ho o o o
chaahe ye duniya
chaahe ye duniya
roke meri raahen
phir bhi main na rukne paaun
har mushqil ko galey se lagaa kar
aage aage badhti jaaun
meri manzil wahi
mera dil bhi wahin een
jahaan mere sapnon ka pyaar paley ae
koi mere saath chaley na chaley ae
mujhe koi saathi miley na miley
par jaana hai zaroor
kahin door
kahin door
jahaan mere sapnon ka pyaar paley ae
koi mere saath chaley na chaley ae
mujhe koi saathi miley na miley

@ Atul ji – Congratulations on covering all songs of ‘Do Anjaane-1976’ 🙂 (which was much expected after the earlier song was posted, as I was aware that this movie had only three songs – including one two parts songs 🙂 )
