A sad event that did not seem to gather much attention, occurred on Tuesday, 29th December, 2015. Legendary singer Subir Sen breathed his last in Calcutta (Kolkata). He was 81-years-old. The lovers of film music will remember him for his renditions in many Hindi and Bangla films.

Genius of Jaidev – 40

Searching on internet YouTube, I came across this Rafi’s 1969 ‘Sapna’ song for my ‘Genius of Jaidev’ series. According to HFGK this Rafi’s song is also sung by Krishna Kalle with some minor variations in lyrics for the same film. What can be better, as suggested by seniors of ASAD, than presenting two songs in one posting today, to remember Jaidevji, who took permanent ‘nirvaan’ on this day, the 6th January, 28 years ago!

“Kismat Ka Khel”(1956) was produced and directed by Kishore Sahu. The movie had Sunil Dutt, Vyjayanti mala, Begum Para, Yashodhara Katju, Mukri, Badri Prasad, Kamaljeet, Bhudo Advani, Tun Tun etc in it.
