Today (5 january 2016) is the death anniversary of C Ramchandra (12 january 1918- 5 january 1982). We are discussing some special C Ramchandra songs on this occasion. Here is another C Ramchandra song. This song, including its writeup is, is special.

This song is special because this is the 400th song of C Ramchandra as a music director to be discussed in the blog. C Ramchandra has also completed his century of songs as a singer in the blog. So, this blog has one of the biggest collections of C Ramchandra compositions that one can find at a place.

I will take this opportunity to give full breakup of C Ramchandra songs in his career as a composer of Hindi movie songs. We will give moviewise breakup of songs available in the blog as well as the number of songs created in that movie.

The table, which follows may have some errors and some details may be missing. I request our knowledgeable readers to comment on the table and offer their remarks, corrections etc. I have also given figures for NFS composed by C Ramchandra but I have not provided figures of total number of NFS taht C Ramchandra may have composed. So there is room for improvement in the table there.

Here is the list of movies and their number of songs where C Ramchandra was the music director:

As can be seen from the above table, C Ramchandra composed music in 106 released movie and 2 unreleased movies. He also composed some NFS. The total number of these songs adds upto a little over 910.

19 of the movies with C Ramchandra as their music director have already been YIPPEED in the blog. There are a few movies where just one song is missing, and such songs are untraceable so far. Let us hope that these songs become available in future.

23 movies with C Ramchandra music in them were unrepresented in the blog. We will try to post songs from these missing movies in the coming days.

The song under discussion is an attempt in that direction. This song is from “Sherdil”(1965), a song that was till now unrepresented in the blog. This movie was directed by Chand for Pinky Films. The movie had Dara Singh, Parveen Choudhary, Jayant, Sujata, Bhagwan etc in it.

Here is this obscure song from this obscure movie. The song may be obscure, but what a song it is ! I heard this song for the first time a few days ago, and I decided that this song must be posted on a special occasion.

Today is one such special occasion. So here is this 400th C Ramchandra composition in the blog. This song is sung by C Ramchandra himself alongwith chorus. Hasrat Jaipuri is the lyricist. Music is composed by C Ramchandra.

Only the audio of this song is available. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the picturisation of this lovely western music based song.

He is the real all rounder along with Hemantda to achieve the double. However unlike Hemantda, CR was so so as a singer. No comparison.

Atul ji,

26 JANUARY (1956) is missing from the list. The film was originally titled as ‘BHARTI’ (1956). I will be writing an article for one of the songs from this film on the occasion of coming Republic Day.

Atul ji,

Songs of ‘Saavdhaan’ (1954) were composed by Vasant-Ramchnadra (Vasant Pawar-Ramchandra Wadhavkar) and not by C Ramchandra.

Thanks for pointing it out.
