“Palkon Ki Chhaaon Mein”(1977) was produced by A Khalia and Nariman Baria and directed by Meraj Ansari for Navsampati Productions, Bombay. This movie had Rajesh Khanna, Hema Malini, Farida Jalal, Leela Chitnis, Master Raju Shrestha, Indrani Mukherjee, Amjad Khan, Asrani, Kanhaiyalal, Leela Mishra, Jeetendra, Rekha, Aruna Irani, Om Shivpuri, Sharma, Pratima Devi, Dhumal, Shahid Bijnori, Sunder etc in it.
Four songs from the movie have been discussed in the past. Here is the fifth and final song from “Palkon Ki Chhaaon Mein”(1977) to appear in the blog. This song is sung by Kishore Kumar, with humming by Lata. Gulzar is the lyricist. Music is composed by Laxmikant Pyarelal.
The song is picturised as a heartbroken Rajesh Khanna on realising that Hema Malini loved Jeetendra (Playing a fauzi) and not him as he mistakenly belived. And so he is trying to drown his sorrow by drinking. Asrani is his commanion in the daaru adda.
