“Gham ki raahon mein
mujhe chod ke jaanewale” –
This forgotten beauty is sung by Kishore Kumar. A wonderfully written song by Naqsh Lyallpuri and composed by the very talented jodi of Basu Manohari. This hidden gem is from “Jeena Hai Pyar Mein” from 1983.
Jeena Hai Pyar Mein” (1983) was produced by S A Gandhi and directed by Krishna Naidu. The film starred Tariq Shah, Shoma Anand, Prema Narayan, Suresh Oberoi, etc
I have no information about the film plot or its story. If any knowledgeable reader knows the story, please comment below.
Coming to today’s song – Gham Ki Raahon Mein, Mujhko Chhod Ke Jaanewale” is a poignant, emotional number that stands out in the film’s soundtrack.
Kishore Da lends his timeless voice to this track, infusing it with heartfelt depth and emotional resonance.
The music is composed by the duo Basu–Manohari (Basu Chakraborty & Manohari Singh), known for crafting evocative melodies.
The words come from Naqsh Lyallpuri, whose lyrics often blend poetic longing with narrative nuance.
What Sets the Song Apart is its Melancholic Lyricism – the song captures the agony of abandonment and the emotional turmoil it brings. It likely accompanies a moment of separation or heartbreak in the film, highlighting the despair of a lover left alone.
In a sense, it’s cursing (or giving bud dua) to the person who has broken your heart. The song is similar to the classic Rafi Saab’s Mere Dushman Tu Meri dosti ko tarse from Aaye Din Bahar Ke.
Hope you enjoy this song!

Lyrics (Based on audio link):
hum hum hum
hum hum hum
gham kee raahon mein
mujhe chhod ke jaane waale
bewafa
kyun na kahen
tujhko zamaane waale
gham kee raahon mein
mujhe chhod ke jaane waale
bewafa
kyun na kahen
tujhko zamaane waale
gham kee raahon mein
khwaab dikha kar jhhoothhe
koi tujko loote
kabhee tere dil ka aaina bhee
meree tarah se tootey
khwaab dikha kar jhhoothe
koi tujko loote
kabhee tere dil ka aaina bhee
meree tarah se tootey
meree chaahat ka
har khwaab jalaane waale
bewafa
kyun na kahen
tujhko zamaane waale
gham kee raahon mein
ashkon mein beh jaaye
doob ke tu reh jaaye
jaa pyaar ke dushman
aaj ka saahil
tere haath na aaye ae
ashkon mein beh jaaye
doob ke tu reh jaaye
jaa pyaar ke dushman
aaj ka saahil
tere haath na aaye
dil kee kashtee mein
toofaan uthhaane waale
bewafa
kyun na kahen
tujhko zamaane waale
gham kee raahon mein
galee galee harjaayee
teree ho ruswaayee
tu pyaar ko tarse
mehfil mehfil
tujh ko miley tanhaai
galee galee harjaayee
teree ho ruswaayee
tu pyaar ko tarse
mehfil mehfil
tujh ko mile tanhaai
mujhko udaasee kee
tasveer banane waale
bewafa
kyun na kahen
tujhko zamaane waale
gham kee raahon mein
mujhe chhod ke jaane waale
bewafa
kyun na kahen
tujhko zamaane waale
gham kee raahon mein
mujhe chhod ke jaaane waale

A trivia, I think I have said this before, the actor lip-syncing to Kishore Kumar is Tariq Shah, husband of Shoma Anand in real life. They got married in 1987. He passed away in 2021. Leaving Shoma Anand
