In Hindi film industry, there are a large number of artists and technicians whose hard work contributes to the making of films. But a vast majority of them remain unknown to public at large. For example, if I want to know as to who played a particular musical instrument in prelude, interlude, or postlude music of a song which I liked, there is no way to know the names of the musicians in the film as they were not credited in the films’ credit rolls until the recent times.

Today’s song is a duet from the film Khoj-1953. A total of 3 films were made with the same title Khoj, in 1953, 1971 and 1989.

Long time back, I don’t exactly remember when, I had read in an English book on Psychology that as a rule, 7 people in this world are mirror images of each others – which means they look exactly like each others ! I could hardly believe it. The book further said that this does not include twins- because they naturally look alike mostly. This made their earlier statement more intriguing.

Last blog century, which was song post number 18000 for the blog was posted on 18 september 2023 (Blog day number 5540). 2 December 2023 was the 9th Remembrance Day of Deven Verma (23/10/1937 – 02/12/2014) who had taken comical performances in Hindi films on a different level. Gulzar had said about Deven Verma that he was not a comedian but an actor. I think, he must have made this statement with his experience of working with him in ‘Angoor’ (1982). His performance was devoid of buffoonery but was loaded with gentle humour, wit, and pun. His wife, Roopa Ganguly had said that her husband was a witty person in his real life.

Today’s song is from the film Nazaare-1949.

It was a film made in the Cine Factory of Ranjit Movietone. It was called a ‘Cine Factory’ because, on all the 8 shooting floors of its studio, continuous shootings went on. Not only their own films, but outside producers also took the floors on rent and made their films. All materials like cameras, helpers, editing and sound facilities, mini theatre and all that was required to make a film was available in Ranjit, including actors, actresses, Lyricists, Music Directors, Directors and what not !

Ayushman Khurana and Bhumi Pednekar were paired together for the first time in ‘Dam Laga Ke Haisha’ (2014) which I have already discussed on the Blog. Their chemistry clicked from the very first film together which seems to have been liked by the audience as per the box office indicator. ‘Shubh Mangal Saavdhan’ (2017) is their second film together. Other supporting cast included Seema Bhargav, Neeraj Sood, Chittaranjan Tripathy, Brijendra Kala, Supriya Shukla, Sanjay Singh etc.
