It has been raining fairly much all day yesterday. It was raining when I woke up today morning. Seemed like a good pleasant day starting. The weather in Delhi had been humid and windless for past two three days. Yesterday was a welcome break and today is a day with brightness that comes after rain. With nothing particular for reference, the mind had been humming the lines since I woke up.

The Many Colors of Love #21 – The Ticklish Aches of Love
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
And so wrote the scribe
pyaar ka. . . dard hai
pyaar ka. . . dard hai
meetha meetha. . . pyaara pyaara
meetha meetha. . . pyaara pyaara
ye haseen. . . dard hi
ye haseen. . . dard hi
do dilon ka. . . hai sahaara
do dilon ka. . . hai sahaara
Aah, to be young at heart, and in love – the emotion carries one to the top of the world. And really, there is a tickle of a lovely pain in the heart when this emotion starts to spread its wings. When just a mere mention of a name, or even just the thoughts of that someone special, will trigger this hastened heartbeats and a rising feeling, that it is difficult to restrain from staying still. The phrase – ‘pulling at the strings of the heart’ – has been oh so aptly coined. Literally it seems as if something is pulling at the heart. And the ache that follows is so full of pleasure. For the thoughts of that someone special are joining this ache, in a delectable conspiracy that brings this loveable tingling sensation. And the heart wants to just soak itself and remain submerged in this fluidy flow of emotions and sensations.

This article is the 10100th song post in the blog.
Ab to ye sab chhote chhote stations lagenge. Now these milestones will seem to be small stations on a long route train. 🙂 🙂
But nonetheless, these smaller stops have a significant role to play. In that they make possible the bigger milestones. After having done the 10K milestone, now the century milestones will seem like small cup cakes. Maybe the next thing of important enthusiasm will be the 11 thousandth post. Ah but that is still nine hundred songs away. And as soon as I think of the 11 thousandth post, my mind gets enamored by a subsequent post number that seems very magical – eleven thousand one hundred and eleven – 11111. Now that is surely going to invoke a lot of interest I am sure. That one will be the first number of its kind to appear on this blog. I mean, in five digit size.

Greetings to all on the anniversary of India’s independence.
When the British Rule ended in India sixty seven years ago, the entire nation of India was not yet free of the foreign rule, by other alien invaders. There were two pockets of colonies one the east and west coasts which were still under alien control. On the east coast, it was the enclaves of Pondicherry, Karaikkal, Mahe and Yanam that were under the French control, and on the west coast, there were the areas of Goa, Daman, Diu, Dadra and Nagar Haveli that were under the control of the Portuguese rule. The movement of the liberation of these colonies had been underway even as the freedom struggle was in progress against the British. However, liberation to these colonies held by the French and the Portuguese did not come for more than a decade and half later.

The record of the events and the times while the struggle against the alien rule was in progress, as it is known and as it has been showcased in the sixty eight years since, is limiting in its focus and its willingness to fairly acknowledge the role and the contributions of many a stalwarts whose names and information has dissipated over time. Ah, but that is what history is all about. The story as recorded by the hunter, by the victor, by the kings and the royalty who would commission favored scholars to compile accounts for posterity, favorable to the ruling dynasty. Over passages of years and decades, such compilations would gain the status of historical record.

Time passes incessantly. And this relentless movement tends to become monotonous, if it were not for celebrations and festivals that punctuate the continuity of this passage. Time of the year again, for specific festivals and celebrations. A new enthusiasm and a new zest – to be doing new things differently.

– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
And so wrote the scribe
And they often say, the matters of heart are a gamble of life. The game of love is very exacting. And the insistence of the game-master is that no wager is big enough in this game of love. The game is played with odds which at times will compel you to bet everything in an all or nothing deal.
This post turns out to be special. Along with the love series special on the ‘Gambles of Love’, we are also making another celebration that combines surprise with anniversary and milestone. Read on, and you will find out.
