This evergreen song from “Sazaa” has been sung by Hemant Kumar, Sandhya Mukherjee and chorus. I have little idea what the singers of the chorus sing, and so I have not written down the lyrics of the chorus. They either sing gibberish, or sing in a language that I am not familiar with. If any reader can tell what the lyrics are, I will add that.

This song from “Baat ek raat ki” (1962) is regarded as a Hemant Kumar classic. This song is picturised on Dev Anand and Waheeda Rahman. Technically this song should be called a duet because Suman Kalyanpur’s voice is also there,singing for Waheeda Rahman, but she sings hardly one line or two.

If one wants to watch a more genteel version of teasing songs than Shammi Kapoor vintage, then one need not go to songs that were sung twenty years earlier. One can go and listen to songs from a contemporary movie called “twenty years later” viz “bees saal baad”.

This superb movie called “Khamoshi” not only had a good story line and good actors, it had good music as well. Hemant Kumar’s music and Gulzar’s lyrics were just out of this world.
