This is the famous Jodi of female singers known for their duets which are popular. They are the venerable Asha Bhonsle and the inmitable Shamshad Begum. When I chanced upon this duet by them from the movie “Chaubees Ghante” (1958), I thought this would be a good inclusion in the series.

The movie had Sanjay Khan, Babita, Om Prakash, Pran, Helen, Manorama, Ramesh Deo, Seema Deo, Parvin Paul, Master Ripple, Baby Sonia, Bramhachari, Hari Shivdasani, Shefali Chowdhry, Amir Ali, Nazir Kashmiri, Baby Yasmin, Master Aziz, Kapoor, Abhimanyu Sharma, Shyamlal, Mool Chand etc in it.

“Holiday in Bombay” (1963) is a movie which is barely known to most Hindi movie enthusiasts today. Same is the case for the music of this movie. But when one begins to look at the songs of this movie, one is left amazed. How can a movie full of such songs be so obscure. This movie should be known among music lovers at least for its songs if for nothing else.
