“Jogan” (1950) was a movie produced by Ranjit Movietone and directed by Kidar Sharma. The story was different and was regarded as a risky proposition by the other leading directors of the time, who on listening to the one line plot (disturbing the sanyas of a jogan) refused to have anything to do with the movie. Then Kidar Sharma himself decided to take up the challenge at the encouragement of Chandulal Shah,the producer, who developed the story of the movie from the one line brief. The fact that the plot of the movie was written by Chandulal Shah was not known for half a century since Chandulal Shah had refused to take the credits.

“Jogan” is a movie which was made in 1950, but the person writing the story of this movie remained unnamed till 1999. “Moorti” (1945) is one of those movies are are so obscure that finding its songs on YT is often out of question. So it always comes as a pleasant surprise when one can locate such songs there. And I was pleasantly surprised to see this song already uploaded, though any details on this song were conspicuous by their absence. It is not that I am complaining. With such obscure songs, any small mercies will do.
