If one listens to just the audio of this song, it sounds unmistakably like a song from a Shammi Kapoor movie. The song is sung by Rafi and Asha Bhonsle, Lyrics is by Hasrat Jaipuri, music is by Shankar Jaikishan. It all seems to add up. The song even has Rafi shouting “Hurray” (reminiscent of “Yaahoo” in an earlier Shammi Kapoor movie)

A couple of songs from “Pyaar Mohabbat” (1966) are the two longest pending farmaishes for this blog. And I was unable to post these songs since I could not locate these songs all these days. Moreover, I too was curious about these songs, since these songs were “new” for me.

This song is a quintessential “villain’s den” party song that we tended to have in Bollywood movies of 1970s. In most of these songs, the hero and heroine would enter villain’s high security party as the lead singers/dancers yet the villains would remain in the dark till the song is over.

I am aware of a few songs from “Kaala Bazaar” (1960) but this song is “new” even for me. This song “teri dhoom har kahin” is a lighthearted song that was not meant to become a timeless song, I am sure. But it is a nice song to listen to nevertheless.

This movie called “Duniya” (1968) managed to remain obscure despite boasting names such as Dev Anand and Vyjyanti Mala. Dev Saab continued his herogiri despite such failures, but Vyjyanti Mala’s reign as one of biggest heoines of those days came to an end soon thereafter.

Till sometime back, I was not even aware of this movie called “Maaya” (1961). Now I have become aware of this movie because of its remarkable songs. Like the movie, its songs were unknown to me too, but not any more.
