Mukesh and his Composers – 30
Mukesh,
• A name that will remain etched in active memory of HFM lovers.
• A voice that will continue to enthrall the inner souls.
• A legend whose immortality will last for several generations to come.
Remembering a noble soul who passed away on this day 27 August 1976, in Detroit city of America. And, even though he departed nearly half a century ago, this year has been unique as his birth centenary was celebrated on 22 July.
Hon. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi also tweeted.

Mukesh and his Composers – 24
LTNS is an unofficial Internet expression in vogue so much so that there is a wiki page too on it.
Well, its “Long Time No See” as far as my posts on the blog are concerned.
My honest excuses are detailed below.
Apart from the work routine, it was some sort of dejection that kept me away from writing. Dejection of meeting almost dead ends as far as search for rare Mukesh songs are concerned. It was my want of concentrating my efforts to try and trace rare songs that kept me away from adding new posts.

Today’s song is from an obscure film Giribala-1947.
This is one of those films, whose story and almost the whole crew came from Bengal. In the past also we have many such films.Right from the Silent films era, Calcutta has been making films and showing them in important markets. After the advent of Talkie films in 1931 itself, out of the 24 films that were released that year, as many as 7 films were made by Madan Theatres, Calcutta alone ! The rest 17 were made by different studios in Bombay. Surprisingly, there was no movie from New Theatres, Calcutta in Hindi, in the first year of Talkie films,i.e. 1931. Their first Hindi Talkie film ” Mohabbat ke aansoo” came only in 1932, but it was such a great flop that it probably did not cross Calcutta’s borders even !

LIFE is a strange phenomenon – full of unexpected things and coincidences. Normally, I never take a long break in my post writing. Last month, however, I needed a break to relax and do things which I have been postponing or delaying – at Home level and work sphere. So I wrote to Atul ji informing him that I would take a hiatus from writing my posts from 28th October till well after Diwali, i.e. 10th of November. Little did I know that The Fate was smiling from behind me and that it already had its own plans to enforce a break to my total activities in the same period. Call it my Intuition or premonition. Whatever.
